Are you an independent country/americana artist in search of a producers and cowriters to help bring your next single to life? A producer looking for fresh, up-and-coming artists to collaborate with and record? A songwriter searching for someone to give a voice to your ideas?
No matter your background, this Grassroots Songwriting Collaborative weekend retreat is designed to create cowriting groups tailored to letting your strengths shine. We understand the importance of skill diversity in the writing room – we group writers with intentionality to create an environment for the strongest song and the greatest opportunity for a cut.
The object of this weekend is not to write a song that Dolly Parton or Blake Shelton would record. As independent creatives, our goal is quality indie cuts within our community.
Our special guest for the weekend, Bonnie Baker, is a multi-genre hit songwriter whose songs have been recorded by some of the biggest names in music, including Michael Bublé (“Everything”), Hunter Hayes (“Invisible”), and Rascal Flatts (“Feels Like Today”). Known for her honest lyrics and memorable melodies, Bonnie’s work spans pop, country, Christian, and film/TV. Over the years, she’s written under publishing deals with Warner/Chappell, Universal Music Publishing Group, and Purplebeat. Whether she’s in the writing room or mentoring up-and-coming talent, Bonnie brings a rare blend of creative depth, industry insight, and genuine connection to everything she does. Over the course of the weekend, each participant will have a chance to write with her personally in a three-way setting, and, at the end of the retreat, sit in on a short songwriting seminar where she will share her insights and answer questions. We are so excited to have her join us!
